    Daniel, Technology Altria Client Services
Hello! My name is Daniel and I interned with Philip Morris USA during the summer of 2006. During my internship, I worked in the Business Planning and Analysis group at the Richmond Manufacturing Center. At the end of the summer, I decided to continue my experience with the Company as a parallel co-op. During my senior year at VCU, I balanced my time between my engineering curriculum, competing on the VCU Cross Country and Track teams, and co-op’ing in the Manufacturing Technology and Engineering group.
After graduating, I was hired into the Engineering Leadership and Development Program (ELDP) with Altria Client Services. The ELDP program allowed me to work in multiple departments and gain a wide variety of experiences over the course of four and a half years. My assignments included another rotation as an Engineer in the Manufacturing Technology and Engineering group and a rotation as a Supervisor in the Receiving, Conditioning, and Blending Department in Primary Processing, both at the Richmond Manufacturing Center. After supervising, I spent one year in the Modeling and Simulation group supporting projects for all of our operating companies. My final rotation within the ELDP program was with Regulatory Affairs in the Regulatory Reporting and Submissions group.
Each of the four rotations that I completed in the ELDP program gave me additional insight into our business. Upon completion of the program, I returned to the Modeling and Simulation group where I currently work. Over the first five years of my career with Altria, I have been given the opportunity to work on some very unique and challenging projects. In addition, I have taken on additional responsibilities with the Company, including supervising an intern and coordinating our recruiting efforts at VCU as a Campus Manager/Owner. Each of my experiences has allowed me to further develop myself. As I continue my career with Altria, there are countless opportunities in the Company for me to pursue.
My career with Altria can be summed up as an experience that cannot be beat!
