Altria Group has a 28.6% economic and voting interest in SABMiller. The combination of South African Breweries (SAB) and Miller Brewing Company in 2002 formed one of the world's largest brewing companies. With brewing interests and distribution agreements in over 60 countries, six of SABMiller's brands are in the world's top 50 beer brands.
SABMiller has a portfolio of strong brands and leading market share in many of the countries in which it has brewing operations. Its brands include international beers such as Miller Genuine Draft, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Pilsner Urquel, as well as an exceptional range of market leading local brands such as Aguila, Miller Lite, Snow and Tyskie. Outside the U.S., SABMiller is also one of the largest bottlers of Coca-Cola products in the world.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007, SABMiller's adjusted earnings per share increased by 10%. Total group beverage volumes grew by 23% on a reported basis at 272 million hectoliters, above last year's reported 221 million hectoliters. Within this total, lager volumes at 216 million hectoliters grew by 23% on a reported basis, reflecting volume growth and share gains in important SABMiller markets. SABMiller's primary listing is on the London Stock Exchange, with a secondary listing on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange South Africa.
