Employee Involvement
The employees of the Altria family of companies are committed to improving the quality of life in their communities. Through our Employee Funds, Matching Gifts, Dollars for Doers and other workplace giving programs, more than $29 million in personal and company donations went to national and local nonprofit organizations in 2003.
Environment
In 2003, the Altria family of companies continued to demonstrate its commitment to protecting the environment. Our companies worked to reduce the environmental impact of their activities, to promote the sustainable use of natural resources and to enhance environmental awareness in many of the communities where they operate. Recognizing environmental stewardship as a growing concern, our companies also continued to explore ways to better evaluate and benchmark their environmental performance, to set priorities for the future and to seek innovative improvement opportunities along the supply chain in collaboration with key agricultural and environmental stakeholders. |  |
