Supplier Diversity Development

Our decades-long supplier diversity development program has been recognized by numerous organizations over the years. Most recently this recognition includes:

  • Altria was awarded the 2011 “Champion of Business Diversity” award by the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce.
  • Altria received Proftech's 2011 President's Award.  Proftech presents this award annually to the company that demonstrates a true commitment to minority-owned businesses, which is exemplified through Altria's partnership with Proftech since 1985.
  • Altria finished among the top 20 companies in the 2011 competition for Corporation of the Year from the National Minority Supplier Development Council.
  • Altria received the 2010 “Raising the Bar” and “Lasting Impressions” awards by the Virginia Minority Supplier Diversity Council.  Altria received the Virginia Council’s “Corporation of the Year” award for four consecutive years prior to 2010.
  • Altria received recognition from DiversityBusiness.com as one of “America’s Top Organizations for Multicultural Business Opportunities” for the last three years. Our ranking moved up from No. 18 in 2010, to No. 9 in 2011 and No. 6 in 2012.
