Ineligible Applications

  • Religious organizations, such as churches and synagogues, for religious activities.
  • Political or lobbying organizations or those supporting the candidacy of a particular individual.
  • Third parties seeking donations on behalf of not-for-profit organizations.  The donation must be made directly to a not-for-profit rather than, for example, to a business partner making a request on behalf of a not-for-profit organization.
  • Grants to individuals.
  • Not-for-profit entities in foreign countries. Payments must be made to a United States-based 501(c)(3) organization [or qualify as a 501(c)(3) equivalency].
  • Capital campaigns, endowments or building drives.
  • Requests for general operating expenses.
  • Youth or adult athletic teams or leagues.
  • Public or commercial radio and television programs.
  • Requests from past grantees that have failed to provide charitable contributions acknowledgment forms or other required documentation.
