Government Affairs Structure

Altria Client Services' Government Affairs department represents Altria Group, John Middleton, Philip Morris Capital Corporation and Philip Morris USA to government entities in the United States. This department comprises two distinct groups.

The Federal Government Affairs team, based in Washington, D.C., along with their contract political and legislative consultants, works with Congress, the White House and federal regulators on national public policy and trade issues. They are focused on advancing business goals, while striving to achieve a legislative and regulatory framework that is beneficial to both Altria and the majority of its stakeholders.

The State Government Affairs team operates across the U.S. Members of this team oversee the work of contract political and legislative consultants for lobbying and representational services in all 50 states. Together, they try to work with stakeholders on mutually beneficial legislative and regulatory policy at the state and local levels for Altria Group's operating companies.
