Altria has a long-standing commitment for community support, including where we source our tobacco. In 2014, we established our Tobacco Leaders Program (TLP), which aims to support our contracted tobacco growers, in part, through an educational scholarship fund for their dependents. By providing scholarships to support tobacco growers' families, we’re investing in the future of tobacco production.

 

As of 2023, we have awarded more than $1 million through our TLP Scholarship.

 

More than 90 students attending various colleges and universities including Murray State University, North Carolina State University, University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky University and Cornell University, have benefited from receiving the TLP Scholarship. All recipients have focused their studies in business, agricultural or science.

In addition to our TLP scholarship program, we also have our university scholarship program. Through this university partnered program our Agronomy and Leaf Procurement Department provide funding to research programs and scholarships.
