California Privacy Notice for Applicants ("CA Privacy Notice")

Altria Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries ("Altria") respect your concerns about privacy. This CA Privacy Notice describes the types of personal information we collect about California residents who apply for jobs with Altria ("applicants"). Certain terms used in this Notice have the meaning given to them in California Civil Code § 1798.100 et seq.
Information We Collect and How We Use the Information
Altria may collect the following categories of personal information about applicants for the purpose of processing job applications and carrying out and supporting applicant screening and evaluation, hiring, and human resource functions and activities, including the specific uses set forth in the chart below. Our uses of personal information about applicants are described in further detail below the summary table.

This also includes medical information pertaining to drug testing (e.g., prescription drug usage).||
Further Detail About Our Uses of Personal Information
As indicated in the table above, Altria may use personal information regarding applicants in up to three different ways, depending on the category of personal information involved. We have provided further detail regarding each of these three uses below:
- Managing applicants: managing potential applicants, including evaluation of qualifications for positions; performing background checks, driving records and drug screens; determining suitability for employment; determining physical and/or mental fitness for work.
- Satisfying legal and compliance obligations: complying with legal requirements, such as tax, record-keeping and reporting obligations; complying with requests from government or other public authorities; responding to legal process such as subpoenas and court orders; pursuing legal rights and remedies; defending litigation and managing complaints or claims; conducting investigations; and complying with internal policies and procedures.
- Processing reimbursements: reimbursement to candidates for applicable travel expenses relative to interviewing.
