Employee Involvement

Our employees' community action platform is called "act" – Altria Contributing Together. Employees take pride in helping our communities thrive. They get involved through volunteering and workplace giving – strengthening our connection to the world around us and helping us learn to lead more inclusively. Many of our SALUTE employees initiate or participate in volunteer events with a variety of local military and veteran support organizations.

Military Support

Our company is proud to support programs for veterans, active duty and transitioning military personnel as well as their families. We value our strong partnerships with the USO, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and many other organizations dedicated to these efforts.

A Department of Defense committee, The Virginia Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), honored Philip Morris USA with the "Above and Beyond" award, granted for the extraordinary support that Altria provides to its employees who continue to serve our nation. Because of the many ways we support veterans in the workplace, we've been a certified Virginia Values Veterans (V3) employer since 2014.

SALUTE, Altria's Military Network, is a community for all Altria employees whose interests align with supporting active duty, reserve, former military service members and their families. The ERG’s vision is to leverage and raise awareness of the skills, values and unique culture that current and former military service members contribute to the success of Our Vision. SALUTE facilitates a variety of initiatives, including employee mentoring/buddy programs, networking and connecting with external support organizations.
