Over the last 10 years, we have worked hard to address important issues like preventing underage tobacco use while also contributing to efforts that help our communities thrive. We're proud of the progress that’s been made and the partnerships we've built, and there's always more to be done.
The most important business challenge we’re focused on is addressing current trends in underage e-vapor use. While use of traditional tobacco products among people under 18 years old has reached historic lows, underage e-vapor use has increased sharply. From 2019-21 we are dedicating more than half of our charitable giving to our signature focus area - Success 360°. This initiative focuses on positive youth development primarily for middle and high schoolers as a way to help address underage product use.
In all five of our corporate giving portfolios, we’ve committed to making our strongest impacts where they matter most. Along with Success 360° and our employee action platform called Altria Contributing Together – or simply, “act” – we focus in three areas in our operating communities: Environment; Inclusive Community and Culture; and Workforce and Economic Growth.
