ESG Progress Dashboard
Stakeholders expect us to clearly communicate where we’re focused and how we're doing. Our Responsibility Focus Areas are guided by our materiality assessment. Through our annual reporting we communicate our progress toward key metrics and update our disclosures to align with evolving expectations.
Altria's focus on responsibility represents our commitment to making progress in the areas most important to our stakeholders and that drive long-term business value. The marriage of these criteria is a powerful combination. It helps us track and manage Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) issues that promote sustainability and success.
To achieve our Vision, we will pursue initiatives designed to promote the long-term welfare of our company, our stakeholders, society at large and the environment. We believe the actions we're taking will create a different Altria — and a different tobacco landscape that will benefit today’s adult tobacco consumers, our businesses and the thousands we employ.
Reduce the Harm of Tobacco Products
The use of tobacco products is a significant public health concern. Engage & Lead Responsibly
Being a responsible corporate citizen isn’t just about sound governance and ethical behavior within a company's walls. It's about understanding and managing the most significant responsibility issues impacting a company, its stakeholders and society broadly.
We understand that how we lead in addressing issues is as important to our stakeholders as where we are focused. Stakeholder expectations related to accountability, transparency and partnership are applicable to the systems, processes, policies and reporting that govern our actions across all our responsibility focus areas.
Stakeholders also expect us to lead in contributing to solutions for challenging issues, and to influence others in the tobacco industry, government and communities on issues of importance. This expectation extends to our investments.
